What You Will FInd
Founded in 1878 by early Swiss-German residents of the Wilsonville area, our congregation is open and affirming, non-fundamentalist, always evolving. We find God in nature, social justice, advocacy, and community. We include seekers, longtime people of faith, Exvangelicals looking to reconnect with spirituality after deconstructing, and more.
Many families have thrived in our church community over the years. As opportunities for gathering and worship expand, we are actively welcoming new members of all ages, including children and their families, who are seeking a progressive, inclusive, spiritual community. We deeply value the diversity and energy that comes from being a multigenerational congregation.
You will receive a warm welcome when attending Meridian UCC’s hybrid worship services. “Frog Ponders” are open-hearted, open-minded and welcoming to all. Our hybrid worship services, meeting both in our historic chapel and on Zoom, allow our congregation to gather from all over the country. Services are interactive, with people contributing whether on-line or in person!
Every service begins with the ringing of our historic bell. (No matter our locations, we can all hear the ringing of our bell!) A Zoom link and a worship bulletin — your guide for following along with the service — are emailed on Saturdays. You may join this email list by completing this registration form.
Every service includes music, an inspirational reflection, scripture readings, and a sermon, followed by congregational reflection — where members are able to personally share their insights on what they have heard as it relates to their own life journey.
Our caring community always welcomes the concerns and the joys of each person. Time is taken for worshipers to request prayers for ourselves and those we love, for our community, and for our world.
Engaging and uplifting music, the language of spirit and soul, highlights our Sunday morning services.
We celebrate Communion the first Sunday of every month. We encourage lighting a prayer candle at home. For online worshipers, text of the readings and songs appears on-screen.
At the conclusion of worship, we transition into a time of community sharing. We share announcements concerning the life of the church and opportunities for service — a reminder that life with God is as much about Monday through Saturday as it is about Sunday. We also get to hear a bit more about each other’s lives. During this time of sharing attendees are free to engage by joining in — or simply sit back, relax and enjoy the conversation!
Our convenient Wilsonville location for in-person gatherings is located near Boeckman and Wilsonville Roads. Our parking lot is sizable, and wheelchair ramps access the buildings.
At Frog Pond Church you can expect warmth, acceptance, inspiration and a feeling of community as we join together to give thanks for the blessings of life, and to share life’s joys and struggles in community and in love.
