Rev. Frank Baldwin

I’m a native of Berkeley, a graduate of Pacific University and Yale Divinity School, a retired United Church of Christ pastor.  I served Meridian UCC, the “Frog Pond Church” in Wilsonville, Oregon, as well as congregations at San Lorenzo, Fresno, and Orinda in Northern California.  I’ve been an adjunct professor of history, theology, and pastoral ministry at the Pacific School of Religion; a planning commission advisor; a fire department chaplain; a Planned Parenthood board chair; and a member of the American Guild of Organists.  I’m fond of folk music, trains, and elderly British sportscars.  My wife Margaret and I have lived in NE Portland since retiring in 2012; we feel amazingly blessed to have three children and four grandchildren.

“Frog Pond Church is a very committed open community where everyone is using their talents and energies to support the church and our service in the community. That is very exciting and what I love about being part of this church.

Rev. Dr. George Wesley Scott

Rev Scott brings Spirit through his preaching, singing, stories and Aloha for all! He joined our team of pastors and worship leaders in February of 2021 during the height of the pandemic when services were all online. Within our present hybrid format, he continues to offer his inspirational messages via Zoom from his home in Honolulu, Hawaii.  We were thrilled to finally meet Rev Scott and his wife, Bridget in person in October 2023, cementing their places as members of the Frog Pond Community.

A native of Detroit, Rev Scott served for 25 years in parish ministry as an Associate Minister at Central Union Church, United Church of Christ. He is currently the Chaplain,  Counselor and varsity football coach at Punahou High School in Honolulu; he has been there since 2005. Rev Scott is also a trained Therapy and Service Dog handler through Assistance Dogs of Hawaii and The Pacific Northwest, and utilizes dogs in counseling and in service to the community.
