Come for worship on Sunday, May 6 at 10 AM and stay for our 140th potluck birthday celebration! Take a stroll through Samaritan House and the Historic Chapel to view (and add to!) the awesome timeline of MUCC’s presence in Wilsonville for SEVEN GENERATIONS.
First gathered in 1878, when Wilsonville was Boone’s Landing, German farmers worshiped at Kruse School and in family homes. After a few months of being led by Methodist and Presbyterian ministers, the settlers voted to form their own church. 140 years later, we’re still here – worshiping and serving God by doing our faithful best to be and build beloved community!
When Wilsonville incorporated in 1969 the estimated population was 1,000. The US Census Bureau population estimate for 2016 was 23,768! Throughout 140 years of change and growth in the community of Wilsonville, Meridian United Church of Christ (Frog Pond Church) has remained steadfast in its love of community and commitment to living out the UCC values of social justice, inclusion, vital communities of worship and celebration, and being led by the Holy Spirit (“God is Still Speaking”).
In honor of our ancestors and their witness, and in partnership with our Still Speaking God, we are committed to continue shining the light of faith, hope and love in our ever-changing community, and our ever-changing world.
