With joy and thanksgiving, the Search Committee witnessed the conclusion of our search for a Settled Pastor at the Congregational meeting held August 14th. With the unanimous consent of the 62 members present by secret ballot, the invitation was extended to Pastor Catherine Allard to join with us and to share life in this spot of the Kindom as our pastor. The weekend saw Pastor Cat engaged with the youth, ministry committees, and Moderators as well as a Saturday evening potluck. The Q&A that followed offered an opportunity to engage with one another. She then led the worship service on Sunday morning and even sat in a canoe with our children!
As testament to a sense of the Spirit’s call to join our hearts, minds and energies in the building up of God’s expression of love and belonging for Frog Pond, our community and the world, the Call Agreement was signed, witnessed and celebrated.
Pastor Cat has returned to New Hampshire to complete her commitments there, and to do the hard work of moving to a new home, community and ministry. She will be ordained September 18th in New Hampshire and is looking forward to being in the Frog Pond church office on October 11th.
The Search Committee is grateful for all who participated in the journey to this decision and gift of our new Pastor. It was a privilege and growing experience for each of us as we worked, discerned and made decisions. Pastor Gabrielle led us as we found our way from the past to the present and we appreciate her help, wisdom and support more than we can say!
Pastor Cat’s first day at MUCC will be October 11th.
